A Note from Rogelio

Hello missionaries!!! I have held my hands high, thanking the Lord for YOU and your faithfulness! Since my last letter, we have completed many projects for the poor, hungry, fatherless, widows and children, looking for the HOPE we have in Jesus Christ. Thank you for your many prayers! We just returned from a difficult, 3-week trip to Central America. We shared the love of our Master with many!

Rita Piper, our men (7) and me worked hard for 3 days getting ready for Fiesta con Jesus (FCJ). The results were FANTASTIC! We picked up APRIL, another missionary Saturday afternoon at the airport to help us with FCJ. April bought 10 bags of groceries, each bag enough to feed a family of 4 for a week, maybe a little longer. April, Rita and Misael (our interpreter) shared stories and played games (as metaphors from the scriptures) to 3 or 4 churches a day. Sindy Palacios (FCJ Director) and her Pastor (Maximino) also evangelized in other churches on opposing days. I visited with the pastors and we attempted to reach out to visiting adults with the gospel in each church. I made some new friends and kissed a lot of babies. Between and after FCJ we would deliver food and pray with the poor.  I found the results ASTOUNDING!!! We shared the Gospel with 14 different churches, 3,614 youth and 889 adults. Of those, 471 youth and 8 adults said the sinner’s prayer, and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Many other lives were enriched and changed as they walked the Roman Road that we were preaching and teaching. Rita participated in the Baptism of 3 ladies as a result of the teaching for FCJ! Praise God!! Sindy is praying to share the gospel in 20 churches next year, that means more $$$$ as support from us. We are currently challenged from a donor (until September 15) matching you, dollar for dollar! If you donate $100 this donor will match it up to $5000!!! That is our goal! There is no better investment in souls…except for prayers! Mark your donation for FCJ!! Thank you, Lord!

We have prayed for discernment, and completed 11 jobs since we were there in January. A lot of food and health care. Misael pulled off a miracle by taking Flor to the DR. appointments on time, and they were able to save both mom and baby, even though the Dr. gave Flor little hope. But we based our Hope in Jesus Christ, I know a lot of you were praying. The baby is 6 weeks old today as our men finished putting on a new roof, a concrete sleeping area, a new sink and washing pad at Flor’s house. Theresa received two new mattresses for their house. We have 6 jobs that we looked at before we left El Salvador and we are praying for the funds. We are having a garage sale at Rita’s in Riverside September 16 & 17th. If you would like to help or would like to donate items contact any board member.

Sunday August 28, 3PM we will be showing a PPT or slide show of our mission trip and highlights of FCJ 2022 at Rita’s house. If you would like for either one of us to present our IXOYE program to your church, small group or Sunday School class please contact Rita or me!

Discernment, I remember six years ago, on a hot July Sunday morning 2016, Bill and Elaine Parker and I were waiting for our favorite Sunday School teacher to arrive, when I asked them about finishing the second church we were working on, in Central America.  I told them we were out of money, again, and my faith was weak. Bill looked at me, like he could see me, (he was losing his eyesight, and would be stone blind by years end) without hesitation Bill, with this sideways grin he always possessed, said “Why sure we should do it!” Elaine agreed. I learned that day, Bill will always have good eyesight, perfect eyesight, it just depends what you are looking at.

Last week our men tore off the roof of that church that Bill and Elaine Parker encouraged us to continue with. The sheet metal (outside) is good, but the framing is rusted and rotten. Our men replaced the inside with new, stronger steel that will not rust as quickly (30 years) from the Pacific salt water that is less than 100 yards from the church. I’m sure our Sunday school teacher could preach a good sermon on the metaphor presented here and quote Matthew 23:23-28 “woe to you Scribes, Pharisees, hypocrites…”  or 2 Corinthians 4:16 “do not lose heart…”

Yes, a good investment! None better…. look at the results!!! Matthew 6:19-20

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

I am convinced that everyone that donates hard earned money, and prays, will get credit somewhere, where moths, vermin and the stock market will destroy…

A Note from The President

This is the day the Lord has made, Psalm 123:18, and 2023 was a year to rejoice over. God moved in mighty ways for His mission in El Salvador. Just too many to even begin to list. Fiesta con Jesus is always a huge time for us. Such a blessing to watch the leaders work with the youth this year. Our men worked Fiesta con Jesus and presented their Bible lesson in drama form. They had such a good time and they plan to work again this year. Over 500 youth gave their lives to Christ.

We delivered sewing machines and supplies for the sewing ministry we have started. One pastor’s wife asked for more machines as she has six ladies learning to sew and learning about Jesus. Several use their machines to make baby blankets to give away or aprons to sell. God has blessed us with people who are so passionate about supporting this ministry.

We have also connected with Dress A Girl, New Mexico. They gave us 750 dresses plus baggage fees to  give the dresses  to young ladies and shorts for the boys. We in turn have given some supplies and have ordered more supplies for them so they may continue to sending dresses around the world.

The year ended with approximately 25-30 families receiving food baskets and gifts for the children. Misael and Sindy take on the job of giving these baskets out while Misael’s wife, Xiomy, bags all the food up for us. It really takes an army, Gods army, to make it all work

On our January trip, We helped with the renovation of a crippled lady’s house. She walks with a walker and is now able to have a bano, shower, and sink all on same level. She’s a Christian and very thankful that God for His provision.

We ask your prayers in the coming year that God will grant us discernment and the provision to carry out His Will.

Thank you sounds so little compared to all the support we’ve been given. Many thanks is all I have and prayers for God’s blessings on each of you.

In the Love of Christ,

Rita Piper
